How it works
- What moves the heat
- Water. The Dock pumps water through a thin Hydrolayer inside a zip-off cover on your mattress.
- Does it actively chill?
- Yes. A solid-state thermoelectric (Peltier) engine chills or heats the water; no compressor or refrigerant.
- Heats?
- Yes: 55–115°F.
- One or two people
- One Dock per side. Dual-zone means two Docks, two hoses, two Hydrolayers and two remotes; each side is set separately.
- Setup
- The Dock sits under the head or foot of the bed or inside a ventilated nightstand, with 6″ of open space around the grilles; an 8 ft hose runs to the Hydrolayer, which goes under your fitted sheet. Fill with distilled water (about 1 gallon per Dock) plus one packet of System Cleaner until the screen shows full. Sleepme says “No tools.” Time and whether one person can do it: not stated (unverified).
- Noise
- Sleepme calls it “whisper quiet,” its quietest dock. No official decibel figure for the 2.0 (unverified).
- Maintenance
- Add a System Cleaner packet and top up the water monthly. Drain, clean and machine-wash the cover about twice a year. Sleepme says skipping maintenance voids the warranty.
- Power
- Each side needs two outlets: one grounded wall outlet for the Dock (6 ft cord; surge protector recommended) and one for the nightstand Remote’s USB-C charger. Dual zone: 4 outlets. Dock wattage: (unverified).
